Checkout Process
Accessing the Checkout Screen:
1. Select Checkout at the top of the menu on the left side of the Square screen.
Adding Items to the Sale:
Barcode Scanning: Scan the item’s barcode using the barcode scanner.
Library Search: Alternatively, access the Library screen by selecting the Library icon at the bottom center of the screen to search for items manually.
Completing the Transaction:
Payment Methods Accepted
Squishable stores accept the following payment types:
Cash
Credit Cards
Visa/MC/Amex
Gift Cards
Tap-To-Pay
Payment Processing:
1. Cash Payment:
Enter the cash amount given by the customer and select Tender.
Square will calculate the change due.
The cash drawer will open, and a receipt will print.
2. Credit Card Payment:
Customers can insert or tap their credit card.
A receipt will print automatically.
If the card reader is down, use Manual Credit Card Entry to enter the card number and follow the prompts.
3. Gift Card Payment:
Ensure the gift card balance exceeds the transaction total.
Follow the same steps as for credit card processing.
If the customer doesn’t know the balance, instruct them to call the number on the back of the card.
4. Split Payments:
To split payment types, select Split Amount at the top right of the Charge window.
Follow the prompts to enter the different payment amounts.
Amending Items
If you need to adjust an item (change quantity, apply a discount, etc.), tap on the item in the Checkout window to open the Options window and follow the prompts to make your changes.
